Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, all-mighty, all-forgiving." 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 “You are neglectful of it!” 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely. 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. 78 He said: my Lord! respite me till the Day whereon they are raised up. 79 Answered He: "Verily, so [be it:] thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 80 till the Day of the known time' 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 I will fill up Hell with you and every one of them who follows you." 85 Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of those who affect: 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 and you will most certainly grasp its purport after a lapse of time!" 88
