▼ 39 The Throngs
Al-Zumer 3 of 8
Shall he then whose breast Allah hath expanded for Islam, so that he followeth a light from his Lord be as he whose heart is hardened? Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. They are in an error manifest. 22 Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide. 23 Is he then who has to guard himself with his own person against the evil chastisement on the resurrection day? And it will be said to the unjust: Taste what you earned. 24 Those before them rejected (prophets), therefore there came to them the chastisement from whence they perceived not. 25 So Allah made them taste the disgrace in this world's life, and certainly the punishment of the hereafter is greater; did they but know! 26 And certainly We have set forth to men in this Quran similitudes of every sort that they may mind. 27 Koran, wherein there is no crookedness; haply they will be godfearing. 28 God tells a parable in which there is a company of quarrelsome people and only one of them is well disciplined. Can they be considered as equal? It is only God who deserves all praise. In fact, most of them do not know. 29 Surely you shall die and they (too) shall surely die. 30 and, then on the Day of Resurrection you shall place your dispute before your Sustainer. 31
