Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Ha'. Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
