And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire while they are [driven] assembled in rows, 19 till, when they come close to it, their hearing and their sight and their [very] skins will bear witness against them, speaking of what they were doing [on earth]. 20 And they will say unto their skins: wherefore bear ye witness against us? They will say: Allah hath caused us to speak, Who causeth everything to speak, and Who created you the first time and unto whom ye are now caused to return. 21 When you used to conceal yourselves (while committing misdeeds) you never thought that your ears or your eyes or your skins would ever bear witness against you; you rather fancied that Allah does not know a great deal of what you do. 22 And this is the assumption you had regarding your Lord, which has ruined you, so you are now among those who have been defeated. 23 And then, [even] if they endure [their lot] in patience, the fire will still be their abode; and if they pray to be allowed to make amends, they will not be allowed to do so: 24 ۞ We assigned for them companions who would make their past and present (deeds) seem attractive to them. Thus, they became subject to what the jinn and human beings before were destined to suffer. They were certainly lost. 25
