۞ Allah it is He Who has subjected to you the sea, that ships may sail through it by His Command, and that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may be thankful, 12 And He hath subjected for your sake whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, the whole from Himself. Verily herein are signs unto a people who ponder. 13 Say thou unto those who believe, let them forgive those who hope not for the days of Allah, that He may requite a community for that which they have been earning. 14 Whoever does a good deed, so it is for his own good; and whoever commits evil, does for his own harm; and you will then be returned towards your Lord. 15 We gave the Book to the Israelites, the commandments, and prophethood, granted them pure sustenance, and gave them preference above all people. 16 And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ. 17 And finally, [O Muhammad,] We have set thee on a way by which the purpose [of faith] may be fulfilled: so follow thou this [way,] and follow not the likes and dislikes of those who do not know [the truth]. 18 Surely they will be of no avail to you against Allah. Indeed the wrong-doers are friends of each other, whereas Allah is the friend of the God-fearing. 19 This [Book] brings enlightenment and guidance to mankind, and is a blessing for those who have firm faith. 20 Or do those who commit ill-deeds suppose that We shall make them as those who believe and do good works, the same in life and death? Bad is their judgment! 21
