And indeed We have created man and We know what his soul instils in him; and We are nearer to him than the hearts artery. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And one part of him will say: "This it is that has been ever-present with me!" 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
