Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
