Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 and the smooth runners 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
