Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
