Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
