Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
