Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
