Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
