Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
