The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 and the Book inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast therein; endure it or endure it not, thereof it is equal unto you. Ye are only being requited for that which ye have been working. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 Verily, we did invoke Him [alone] ere this: [and now He has shown us] that He alone is truly benign, a true dispenser of grace!" 28
