Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
