WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 From the right and from the left, in crowds? 37 Does every man of them long to enter the Garden of Bliss? 38 Nay, verily. Lo! We created them from what they know. 39 I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests that We have the power 40 To replace them by (others) better than them. And we are not to be outrun. 41 So leave them to their vain disputes and amusement till they meet their day (of reckoning) promised them, 42 the Day when they shall come forth in haste from their graves, as if racing towards a goal-post, 43 Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with. 44
