The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And the Book written 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the House inhabited 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 And the swollen sea 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe, then, on that Day to those who give the lie (to this Message) 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
