EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
