Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
