Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
