The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it setteth. 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 then drew near and suspended hung, 8 two bows' length away, or nearer, 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 And he certainly saw him in another descent 13 By the Lote-tree beyond which none can pass, 14 nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, 15 Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) 16 his eyes did not swerve, nor did they stray 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 And Manat the other third? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 That indeed is a division unfair! 22 They are but names, named by you and your fathers. Allah has not sent down any authority for them. They follow conjecture and their soul's desire, eventhough the guidance of their Lord has come to them. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all the Hereafter and this world. 25
