Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
God the Almighty always says the truth.
