(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
