Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
