Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness. 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings. 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
