The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
