The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
