The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
