The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
