▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
But for him who lived in awe of the sublimity of his Lord, there will be two gardens -- 46 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 47 With spreading branches; 48 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 49 In both of them are two fountains flowing. 50 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 51 Wherein is every kind of fruit in pairs. 52 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 53 reclining upon couches lined with brocade, the fruits of the gardens nigh to gather -- 54 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 55 therein maidens restraining their glances, untouched before them by any man or jinn -- 56 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 57 As (lovely as) rubies and as (beautiful as) coral. 58 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 59 Is the reward for good [anything] but good? 60 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens (i.e. in Paradise). 62 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 63 Dark green [in color]. 64 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 65 therein two fountains of gushing water -- 66 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 67 In them are fruits (of all kinds), and dates and pomegranate. 68 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 69 In them good and comely maidens -- 70 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 71 There shall be maidens sheltered in tents. 72 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 73 Untouched by any man or jinn, before them. 74 Which, then, of the benefits of Your Lord will ye twain belie? 75 They will be reclining on plain green and beautifully printed cushions 76 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 77 Most Auspicious is the name of your Lord, the Most Majestic and the Most Honourable. 78

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
