The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And shade extended 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruits numberless, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
