The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
