Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are the rangers, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
