▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then lo! ye, the erring, the deniers, 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 And drink over it scalding water, 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 "We are ruined, 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Did you produce the tree that serves as fuel or do We? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
