▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew – 76 that this is indeed a noble Quran, 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 What, do you hold this discourse in disdain, 81 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 And ye are at that moment looking 84 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 85 If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, 86 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful? 87 (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 And if one happens to be of those who have attained to righteousness, 90 he will be welcomed by the words: “Peace to you” from the People on the Right. 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 its dwelling will be boiling water 93 And a hurling into the blazing fire. 94 Verily this! this is the very truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
