Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
