Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty Garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
