Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
