20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,- 2 Half of it, or a little less than that, 3 Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. 4 Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.). 5 [and,] verily, the hours of night impress the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice, 6 During the day, you are preoccupied with many activities. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 Leave Me to those who cry lies, those prosperous ones, and respite them a little, 11 Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire 12 and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement. 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). 15 But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold. 16 If you, disbelieve, how will you be able to protect yourselves from the hardships of the day which would even turn children grey-headed? 17 On that day, the heavens will be rent asunder. This is the decree of God which has already been ordained. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
