NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 we fed not the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
