No, by the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
