No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until death approached us". 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
