NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except those of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
