Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
