Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
