Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
