Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
