Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
