Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
