Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
